Tell us about yourself

Well I am a little crazy and I think that’s a bit of a prerequisite in a sales role!

What do you do at work?
I work in the Business Development team in the London office, liaising with clients to advise them of the great services that we have to offer in Immigration, Destination Services, Moving and Assignment Management.
a

Why did you choose Santa Fe?
I looked at the reviews from both a customer and employees perspective and they were excellent in both areas so it was an easy choice for me.
a

Why did we choose you?
I’m good at engaging with people, with a background predominantly in hospitality, I’ve spent years developing and nurturing relationships at all levels and I think these skills are very transferable. I have a positive outlook, I’m reliable and conscientious and I’ll always go the ‘extra mile’ to ensure a client gets what they need, I like to under promise and overdeliver and I think customers really appreciate and remember these traits.

a

What is your greatest achievement at work?
Following on from the previous point, developing relationships with clients in all walks of life throughout my career, many of whom I’m still working with and doing business with to this day.
a

What is your greatest achievement in life?
I’d have to say it’s my children Milly (16) and Max (14). Of course they’re both in their teens so not without their challenges but they’re great kids and I’m incredibly proud of them both.

What or who inspires you in your life and at work?
I’d say it was my Dad, sadly he died many years ago but he was a fantastic chap who didn’t take himself too seriously and he was and still is a great inspiration to me.
a

What is the best thing about working at Santa Fe?
The people are the best thing about the organisation. There is a palpable passion for what they do, they are really engaging. As someone who joined Santa Fe during the pandemic, working virtually with all the challenges that brings and joining an industry that was pretty new to me, everyone has been incredibly welcoming and I truly feel like part of the Santa Fe Family now.
a

What is the best thing about our horse?
Well don’t get me wrong, it’s a super logo but I’m not great on a horse and it just makes me think of falling off one..
a

What is the best advice you can give to people?
Listen, listen, listen and ask lots of questions, it’s the only way to learn. I’ve only been in this industry for 6 months so every days a school day and you’re never too old to learn.

a

What would you do in the event of a zombie apocalypse?
Hold my family close and hope for the best!
a

There are now 25 hours in a day, how would you spend the extra hour?
Relaxing with a decent book with a glass of something fruity. I find reading incredibly therapeutic and always have some marvellous reading material on the go.

a

If you could travel anywhere, where would you go?
New Zealand, would definitely be up there at the top of the list, I’ve never been there before and have friends in Auckland. I’d love to visit Rotorua on the North Island with its magical forests, fantastic biking trails and of course the bubbling mud pools and natural springs. The only downside is that it’s a bit smelly because of all the sulphur!
a

How did you find this interview?
Good, great idea to have unexpected questions which no doubt yielded the most natural answers – note this was ‘take one!’

Santa Fe sincerely thanks Deniz for contributing to this initiative and for sharing her story.
