Tell us about yourself

I joined Santa Fe during the lockdown, which has certainly been a different way to onboard, but have been in the mobility space for 8 years. I’m a father of two and we live just outside of London, which is great as it gives me access to the city and clients, as well as the ability for us to be in fields and woodland on bikes in a matter of minutes. This has been so important over the last year.

Tell us about Santa Fe
What I like about Santa Fe is that it covers the full breadth of the assignment lifecycle and offers the fullest service portfolio that I have had to offer as solutions to the businesses we work with. Although its legacy is in the moving business, it has grown to be so much more than that and there is an appreciation in the market for some of the thought leadership and forward-thinking that allows us to help businesses in a holistic way.

What do you do at work?
It has been put to me that I am a transformation consultant, which resonates. It’s really all about listening to the customer, where they are, where they want to be, and what value I, and we can add to.

Why did you choose Santa Fe?
When the pandemic hit, everything changed, for everyone. Santa Fe had been going through some well-publicised changes before then and was committed to adapting and becoming a stronger and more focused business. The business had always been part of the mobility fabric for me, but it seemed like the right time for me to join and play a part in that evolution. that. Those customers being both internal and external.

Why did we choose you?
I believe because I bring energy and new ideas to the table, because I am customer-focused, and always pushing the development agenda.

What is your greatest achievement at work?
Santa Fe has invested in my development and I have been fortunate enough to become RES Forum and GMPD accredited. These are both fantastic initiatives, which not only allow me to develop professionally but also better placed to advise the businesses we work with.

What is your greatest achievement in life?
Being able to provide a safe and learning hungry environment for my family.

What or who inspires you in your life and at work?
My kids are a constant inspiration. I have two very different children and they teach me something new every day, especially how to adapt and view challenges in a different way.

What is the best thing about working at Santa Fe?
I have found the people to be collaborative, which I like. The events of the last year or so have brought people together in so many ways, whilst we have paradoxically been kept apart. I am a believer that the sum is more than the parts.

What is the best thing about our horse?
It is a symbol of impetus. The horse has been helping people move across the world for thousands of years.

What is the best advice you can give to people?
Be curious, and be kind.

What would you do in the event of a zombie apocalypse?
We already have a designated meeting point and strategy for that. I couldn’t possibly divulge any more than that.

There are now 25 hours in a day, how would you spend the extra hour?
I can always use some extra guitar practice.

If you could travel anywhere, where would you go?
Two or three generations into the future. I am ultimately a technological optimist (although dystopian nightmares can be fun). If you consider how the world has changed and the pace of change in the last generations, we can’t begin to understand what it will look like, but I would like to see.

How did you find this interview?
It’s always interesting to be under the microscope, but I think I prefer asking the questions.

Santa Fe sincerely thanks Trevor for participating in this initiative and for sharing his story.
