Regulation Change – WP3 can be applied at OSSC (One Stop Service Center)
Effective Aug 22, 2019, WP3 (a pre-approval letter for work permit application) can be applied at OSSC for companies that meet the requirement.
Who will be affected?
Companies that have no less than 30 million THB paid up capital or possess total current asset showing on the financial statement no less than 30 million THB, and the position applied is manager level or above.
Background:
Eligible companies are privileged to process their immigration requests at OSSC which provides same day approval. However, OSSC did not accept WP3 applications in the past, which means eligible companies still needed to go to the Employment Department to process their WP3 application which takes 3 business working days. Subsequently, they had to process their work permit application at the Employment Department as well, which takes another 3 business working days.
In an effort to simplify the work permit application process for eligible companies, the OSSC now accepts WP3 application with same day approval. With WP3 application processed at the OSSC, eligible companies can also process their work permit applications at the OSSC with same day approval.
Impact:
This new announcement will simplify the work permit application process for eligible companies looking to hire expats. It will greatly shorten the processing time as well.
