Social distancing restrictions were eased in Hanoi from 00h 23 April 2020,
Who will be affected?
• All Vietnamese citizens
• All foreigners living and working in Vietnam
• All employers with foreign nationals working in Vietnam
Impact
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc confirmed to downgrade the city from the COVID-19 high risk group to medium risk.
The Prime Minister ordered local authorities of areas in medium and low-risk groups to closely follow the pandemic developments and create conditions to resume production and business. Local authorities are given the right to decide which shops can open or not.
Along with Hanoi, HCM City, Bac Ninh and Hà Giang provinces are also in the medium-risk category.
Activities like festivals, sports events, bars, karaoke venues, massage parlours, beauticians, flower shops and zoos are banned.
People to continue to wear masks, keep away from each other at supermarkets and asked for quarantine measures on foreigners entering Vietnam.
Implementation
These measures have already been implemented and will remain in effect until further notice is received from the authorities.
Santa Fe Analysis
Tourist Visa and new work permit application are still not open for all applicants until further notice.
For employers, it is advised to keep assignment start dates flexible for affected travellers and to keep business travel to a minimum.
