China | Shanghai implement conditional “7 days centralized isolation quarantine + 7 days home quarantine” control measures

Latest joint Government authority release confirms travelers can now voluntarily implement conditional “7 days centralized isolation quarantine + 7 days home quarantine” control measures.

Who will be affected?

Travelers who enter Shanghai from overseas

Impact

Shanghai COVID-19 Prevention and Control Group decided, effective from 0 a.m., 27th Jul 2020, that travelers arriving in Shanghai from overseas will implement conditional “7 days centralized isolation quarantine + 7 days home quarantine” control measures.

For travelers whose final destination is Shanghai and who own fixed place of residence which fits home quarantine requirements (Quarantine subjects live by themselves or live with family together). If travelers apply for home quarantine, they will take acid nucleic acid tests for COVID-19 on 5th day when under centralized isolation quarantine. Those with a negative test result will be picked up by each district’s dedicated arranged vehicle then escorted to home quarantine residence to continue 7 days home quarantine and health observation.

Before the end of home quarantine, the traveler and family members who participate in home quarantine together must take another acid nucleic acid test for COVID-19. Those with negative test results will be released from isolation. Travelers not willing to participate in home quarantine or without fix residences will implement 14 days centralized isolation quarantine.

For travelers whose final destination is Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Anhui, they will take acid nucleic acid tests for COVID-19 on 5th day when under centralized isolation quarantine. Those with negative test results will be picked up by each province’s dedicated arranged vehicle and escorted to their home quarantine residence to continue 7 days home quarantine and health observation.

For travelers whose final destination is another province, they will need to implement 14 days centralized isolation quarantine in Shanghai.

Shanghai will continue to implement humanized management measures, regarding elders, minors, pregnant women and people with limited mobility or with elderly or children requiring nursing or suffering from underlying diseases, which are not fit for centralized isolation quarantine. They will take acid nucleic acid tests for COVID-19 at each district’s checkup point. Those with negative test results and meet home quarantine requirements, after strict measures on quarantine conditions can be approved for home quarantine.

According to each province’s COVID-19 status, for other province please further check with local authority.
