Immigration update: Indonesia | Increasing length of quarantine from 7 to 10 days
Indonesia has increased the mandatory quarantine period for foreigners and Indonesian citizens travelling from countries outside the 11 prohibited countries (South Africa, Botswana, Hong Kong, Angola, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Eswatini, and Lesotho) from 7 days to 10 days to curb the spread of Omicron variant.
Who are affected?
International travellers who want to enter Indonesia.
Impact
All international travellers must comply with the following conditions/requirements:
- International travellers are required to re-test RT-PCR and are required to undergo quarantine for 10 x 24 hours upon arrival
- In the event that the head of the foreign representative and the family on duty in Indonesia can self-quarantine at their respective residences for 10 x 24 hours; and
- For Indonesian citizens and foreigners, a second RT-PCR test is carried out with the following conditions:
• On the 9th day of quarantine for international travelers who quarantine with a duration of 10 x 24 hours; or
• On the 13th day of quarantine for international travelers who quarantine with a duration of 14 x 24 hours.
Implementation
Effective from 3 December 2021 and would be evaluated periodically.
