Immigration update: Indonesia | Updated length of quarantine and entry ban from several countries
In response to the emergence of a new variant of Covid-19 B.1.1.529 (Omicron variant) from outside the territory of Indonesia, the Directorate General of Immigration has issued regulations restricting international travellers who plan to enter Indonesian territory.
Who are affected?
International travellers who want to enter Indonesia.
Impact
- Temporary suspension of Visit Visa and Limited Stay Visa (VITAS) for South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Mozambique, Eswatini, and Nigeria.
- Entry restriction for foreigners with a travel history within the last 14 days to South Africa, Botswana, Hong Kong, Angola, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Eswatini, and Lesotho.
- Indonesian nationals coming from the above-mentioned countries will be able to return to Indonesia and will serve mandatory quarantine of 14 days (14×24 hours). RT-PCR test will be conducted on arrival and at day-13 of quarantine.
- Indonesian nationals and foreign nationals, coming to Indonesia from countries or region not listed above, will serve mandatory quarantine of 7 days (7×24 hours). RT-PCR test will be conducted on arrival and at day-6 of quarantine.
Implementation
Effective from 29 November 2021 and will be evaluated periodically.
