Immigration update: Italy | An update on travel restrictions
Individuals that stayed/transited in Bulgaria and Romania 14 days prior to their arrival in Italy, are subject to health vigilance and quarantine
The Italian government provided an update regarding travels restrictions.
Who will be affected?
All EU citizens and non EU citizens who needs to travel to/from Italy from Bulgaria/Romania
Background:
Due to the large outbreak of covid – 19 in Italy, new extraordinary laws were implemented and new restrictions/measures put in charge.
Impact:
People who are supposed to travel to/from Italy must expect restrictions.
Implementation:
The ministry of health with ordenance dated 24 July 2020, published on 27 July 2020 states that people coming from Bulgaria and Romania and that stayed/transited in those countries 14 days prior to their arrival in Italy, are subject to health vigilance and quarantine as per terms established by DPCM dated 11 June 2020 and extended per law 14 July 2020.
The ordenance issued by the ministry of health on 30 June 2020 and extended by DPCM 14 July 2020 and by ordenance date 16 July 2020 are still in force until 31 July.
Next Steps (or) Actions Required:
People who needs to travel to/outside Italy, must consider the new conditions and check with the airline further restrictions.
