The Italian government extended the validity of documents.
Who will be affected?
All EU citizens and non-EU citizens that have on-going immigration procedures.
Background
Due to the large outbreak of Covid–19 in Italy, new extraordinary laws were implemented and new measures put in force.
Impact
Workers and their families have to expect delays in the finalisation of immigration procedures.
Implementation
Law Decree 56 issued on 30 April 2021 and in force from 30 April 2021 extends the validity of identity documents until 30 September 2021.
The validity of work permits, family clearances and residence permits is extended until 31 July 2021.
