Immigration update: Italy | Stay permit for family member of EU citizen
Accordingly to law of the Interior Minister 400.B/2021/I div./I sez., starting from 2 August 2021, the stay permit for family members of Eu citizens will be issued in electronic format.
This document will replace the current paper version of the above stay permit and will be issued for 5 or 10 years accordingly to the scenario. For children under 18, the duration will be 5 years and renewable until the 18th year.
The application of this new format of stay permit will be possible by sending the application kit and paying the fee of 30,46 euros to print the stay permit (+ 16 euro revenue stamp + the fee to pay the bill at the post office). Foreigners will then be subject to fingerprinting.
Stay permits already issued will be valid until the expiry or if replaced by other documents, and not beyond 3 August 2023.
