Travel requirements from UK and Northern Ireland
The government provided an update regarding travels restrictions.
Who will be affected?
People who need to travel from UK and Northern Ireland to Italy.
Background
Due to the large outbreak of Covid–19 in Italy, new extraordinary laws were implemented and new restrictions/measures put in charge.
Impact
People who are supposed to travel from UK and Northern Ireland to Italy (and from Italy to UK and Northern Ireland) must expect restrictions
Implementation
DPCM 03 December 2020 regulates movements to/from Italy from 04 December to 15 January 2021.
UK and Northern Ireland still belong to E countries list until 15 January but with specific regulations.
As established by the ordenance of Ministry of health on 09 January, entrance and transit of people who stayed in the UK and Northern Ireland 14 days prior to their arrival in Italy is forbidden.
Entry/re-entry to Italy of people from UK and Northern Ireland with negative swab is allowed if resident in Italy before 23/12/2020 or for proved need to be proved with declaration by law accordingly to art 46 and 47 of law 445 of 28 December 2000 and with compulsory communication to the authorities at arrival, also informing authorities in case symptoms arise.
A double negative swab, of which one done no more than 72 hours prior to departure and the other done at the arrival is mandatory, together with a required self-isolation of 14 days at the arrival in Italy.

People who need to travel to/outside Italy, must consider the new conditions and check with the airline further restrictions/travel bans.
