MDEC and Immigration offices complete lockdown
Further to the implementation of the “Control Order Movements” from 18th March 2020 to 31st March 2020 throughout the country, MDEC offices and all Immigration offices will be closed from 19th March 2020 to 31st March 2020.
Who will be affected?
Foreign Nationals that have entered the country with Stage 2 endorsements of employment / dependant passes to be completed, special passes, cancellation of employment passes / dependent passes and the transfer of endorsements.
Background
The partial lock down announcement was made by the Government on the 16th March 2020 via the Prime Minister in a special address due to the worsening of the COVID-19 situation in Malaysia.
Impact
This will impact travel for foreign nationals, project deliverables and endorsement of passes.

Next Steps (or) Actions Required
Special Pass is not required or applicable during this partial lockdown period for:
a) Foreign Knowledge Worker / Expatriate who will continue to remain in Malaysia and current pass (Employment Pass/Dependent Pass/Other related pass) is expiring or has expired
b) Foreign Knowledge Worker/expatriate planning to leave Malaysia and current pass has expired.
