Immigration update: Singapore | Changes to the Employment Pass (EP) and S Pass requirements
Revisions to the Employment Pass (EP) and S Pass qualifying salary will take place with effect from 1 September 2022.
Who will be affected?
Employers and foreign applicants applying for Employment Pass (EP) and S Pass will be affected by this change.
The Financial Services (FS) sector will also continue to require a higher qualifying salary in order to qualify for the relevant work passes.
Background
Current qualifying salary for EP is at S$4,500 per month and S Pass at S$2,500.
Impact
The new EP qualifying salary will apply to new EP and S Pass applications from 1 September 2022 and subsequently to renewals from 1 September 2023, as part of the Ministry of Manpower’s (MOM) aim to ensure that qualifying work pass holders are comparable to one-third of Singapore’s local Professionals, Managers, Executives and Technicians (PMETs) and Associate Professionals and Technicians (APT) workforces.
