Measures and Restrictions due to COVID – 19 Spreading in Spain
Who will be affected?
All Eu citizens and non-EU citizens who have immigration procedures ongoing all over Spain.
All nationals (Spanish Nationals included) are affected in their travels from/to Spain
Background
Due to the expansion of Covid – 19 in Spain, the Spanish Government has ruled the “Royal Decree declaring the state of alarm due to the health crisis caused by COVID-19 issued on March 14th, 2020”
More than 100 countries have restricted the port entry to the Spaniards or other nationals coming from Spain.
Impact
All schools (included Nursery, Primary and High Schools, University) remain closed for the next 15 days.
Public Spanish Administration will be closed from Monday on-wards until further notice.
Employees and their families must expect delays in the finalisation of immigration procedures and cancellation in their current appointments.
Flight cancellations, entry bans, quarantine or health checks have been put in place from more than 100 countries.
Freedom of movement has been banned except under certain circumstances (working reasons, health reasons or returning home, food purchase)
Processing time-frame has been suspended for all the Administrative procedures.
Implementation
Royal Decree declaring the state of alarm due to the health crisis caused by COVID-19 issued on March 14th, 2020 and effective after its publication in the BOE (State Official Gazette.)
Internal and local Instructions are being taking place according with the Royal Decree.
Next Steps (or) Actions Required
The Administration will communicate how to reschedule new appointments.
All employees, except in the cases provided for by the Royal Decree should remain at home.
