Immigration update: Thailand | ‘Test & Go’ for vaccinated arrivals
Recent changes to the Test & Go Scheme are applicable from 1st May 2022.
Who will be affected?
Foreigners who are entering Thailand.
Background
The Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) decided to scrap the requirement for RT-PCR testing of overseas arrivals, and the “Test and Go” scheme for fully vaccinated travelers as the country prepares for more easing of restrictions in line with the COVID-19 situation.
Impact
From 1st May 2022, travelers enter Thailand by air. The Thailand Pass will be subject to new entry measures, as follows:
- The minimum travel insurance coverage for medical treatments in Thailand will be reduced from US$20,000 to $10,000.
- COVID-19 test, both prior to and after arriving in Thailand, is no longer required
Applicants can use their approved Thailand Pass QR Code to enter Thailand on a different date of arrival if the new date of arrival is within 7 days before or after the original date of arrival as indicated on the QR Code (no need to re-apply or modify your application).
Please note that applicants are required to show proof of revised hotel accommodation that corresponds to the new travel dates, and non-Thais are also required to show proof of insurance for medical treatments in Thailand for the entire duration of their revised travel itinerary. Failure to produce these documents may result in denied boarding. Further note that each Thailand Pass QR Code can be used only once.
