Vietnam will limit inbound flights until the Lunar New Year holiday as new variants of the novel coronavirus spreads faster in many countries.
Who will be affected?
All travellers to Vietnam
Only necessary flights with approvals from Ministry of Heath, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of National Defence, Ministry of Public Security and Ministry of Transport can enter the country.
After the holidays, which fall 10th-16th Feb 2021, the Ministry of Transport will study the possibility of resuming international flights, but limitations will still continue.
Vietnam stopped commercial flights carrying professionals and workers last month and allowed only repatriation flights as the COVID-19 situations intensified globally with a new variant spreading from United Kingdom.
On 5th January 2021, the Government suspended flights from countries and territories with new variants, starting from United Kingdom and South Africa.
These measures have already been implemented and will remain in effect until after the 16th February 2021, or until further notice from the authorities.
All travellers entering Vietnam from/transit through infected areas will need to undergo a 14 day period of quarantine at a nominated quarantine port in Vietnam.
