What are the best areas to live in London?

Deciding where to live in London can be incredibly tough. With several areas to choose from, it’s easy to fall into the trap of moving to wherever looks pretty or where you can find the best value for money. To ensure you make the right move, here at Santa Fe Relocation, we’re taking a closer look at the best places to live in London.

North London

North London is home to some of the most popular residencies in London such as Highgate, Archway and Islington, and so it’s no surprise that living here can come with a relatively high price tag attached. With a wealth of character and a cosmopolitan vibe that helps set the high-end area apart from the rest of the capital, you’ll be at no loose end when it comes to getting around, eating and drinking out or shopping. While you may not find as many designed boutiques as you would in its West End counterpart, Camden Passage Market has been famed for its extensive range of market stalls specialising in just about everything you could ever imagine.

South London

In general, neighbourhoods in South London are relatively newer and cost less than in North London. You can find some fantastic places to live here, and believe it or not, you’re likely to get a bit more space for your money, too! Before deciding where to live in South London, you should definitely take a look at the likes of Crystal Palace, Wimbledon and Clapham. If you’re happy to live further out from Central London, living in Croydon shouldn’t go amiss. After all, the Overground is there for a reason!

East London

If you’re an artist or hipster, East London is the place for you. Home to some of the coolest places to live in London, East London offers a fantastic combination of alternative lifestyles with a constant flow of interesting things happening around town. While there are some more expensive neighbourhoods in the area such as Shoreditch, you can also find some more affordable places to live here too. Bethnal Green and Dalston are just two of the most popular areas to live, and are perfect for those who work in media.

West London & Central London

Of course, we couldn’t forget West London and Central London. Home to numerous iconic buildings such as Kensington Palace and Buckingham Palace, if you want to be in the centre of it all, either of these areas could be the perfect match for you. Fulham is particularly popular with young individuals, families, foodies and football fans alike too, so make sure to consider this area if you’re part of one of these demographics. After all, with all the benefits of living in London but with a quaint village atmosphere, family-owned pubs and plenty of green spaces, what’s not to love?
