Steve Standring assumed the role of Chief Operating Officer at Santa Fe Relocation following its acquisition by the Mobilitas Group in 2024. With a wealth of experience in the international moving and relocation industry, he brings a seasoned perspective to his leadership position.
Steve’s journey in the industry began in 1980 when he joined the UK branch of Four Winds International Group. American based Four Winds was one of the founding members of IAM. Following industry roles in the UK, Continental Europe, SE Asia and the USA, Steve ascended to Group CEO for Four Winds in 1992.
Under his stewardship, Steve oversaw the expansion of Four Winds International Group, culminating in a successful management buyout in 2000, where he acquired full ownership of the company.
Following the acquisition of Four Winds International Group by the Mobilitas Group in 2005, Steve transitioned into a Mergers & Acquisitions role, spearheading numerous growth and business development initiatives. His efforts were instrumental in expanding the Mobilitas Group’s global presence across Europe, Asia, the Middle East and The Caribbean. He played a crucial role in managing strategic acquisitions in various countries including the Netherlands, Belgium, Indonesia, Malaysia, The Philippines, Aruba, Bonaire, Curacao, Saint Martin and Oman, as well as the purchase of the UniGroup Companies in Asia.
Within Europe, Steve’s leadership was evident in the planning, design and oversight of flagship facilities in the UK and Belgium. He also led the establishment of start-up ventures in emerging markets such as Japan, UAE, Qatar, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar, Cambodia, Haiti, China, Bahrain and Kuwait. Throughout these endeavours, Steve prioritised the recruitment and mentorship of local General Managers, ensuring seamless integration into the Mobilitas Group.
In his personal life Steve is married to Suzanne and is the father of two adult daughters. Raised in multinational environments, his daughters’ upbringings reflect Steve’s deep understanding of, and empathy with, the needs of expat families navigating cultural transitions globally. As a seasoned expatriate himself, Steve brings a unique perspective to his role, informed by firsthand experience and a commitment to facilitating smooth relocations for families worldwide.
