Immigration update — United States of America – New H-1B Proclamation
Overview
Effective 21 September 2025, a new Proclamation has been signed by President Trump in the United States of America, impacting H-1B non-immigrant visa petitions, whereby a one-time fee of 100,000USD will be applicable for the 2026 lottery cycle.
Who will be affected?
The changes will apply to the 2026 lottery cycle. They do not apply to individuals who already hold valid H-1B visas. Current visa holders retain the ability to travel in and out of the United States without being subject to the new fee requirement. It does not affect renewals, amendments, or individuals who participated in the 2025 lottery.
Impact
It will be a one-time 100,000USD supplemental fee to accompany certain new H-1B petitions, it is not an annual fee.
