Strengthening maritime bridges Singapore and the Netherlands
Forum — Singapore Maritime Week opened with a focused session for CEOs of leading maritime companies, hosted by the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency, InnovationQuarter and Rotterdam Partners. The discussion explored what it takes to operate from the Netherlands and how organisations can position themselves for growth across Europe.
The session reflected a strong alignment between Singapore and the Netherlands. Both play a central role in global shipping, supported by scale, infrastructure and a clear focus on innovation and sustainability. The Port of Rotterdam remains a key entry point into Europe, backed by a well-developed ecosystem of technology, talent and policy that supports international expansion.
Talent was a consistent focus. Where to find it, how to access it and how to retain it. These questions are shaping decisions for maritime organisations and influencing how they approach new markets.
Santa Fe was represented by Ruth Lockwood and Adam Sloan, contributing perspective on Global Mobility and the practical considerations organisations face when establishing and supporting teams internationally. The conversation reinforced how mobility, compliance and local expertise connect directly to business outcomes.
There is clear momentum for more Singapore-based maritime companies to establish a presence in the Netherlands. The opportunity is defined. The conditions are in place for organisations ready to act.
Let’s continue the conversation on how this can shape your expansion plans.
