Tell us about yourself
Passionate about the talent mobility industry. In love with Caren and crazy about her 5 year old daughter Billie.
Running and cycling various times per week. What I miss most during this pandemic are restaurants, supporting my favourite football team KV Mechelen in the stadium and music concerts.
Tell us about Santa Fe
We support people during one of the most stressful events in their lives; a relocation to another country. During this process only one thing is key: Quality! Our support has a direct impact on the well-being and the integration of a single or a family so we cannot and will never compromise on quality. So no “one-size-fits-all approach” with Santa Fe, we design solutions based on the specific needs of our clients with the goal to grow together with them.
What do you do at work?
I listen to people and try to make their lives easier.
Why did you choose Santa Fe?
Santa Fe is not a logistics, moving, relocation or immigration company. We listen to people and create solutions to fit their needs and expectations, which makes us a trusted advisor. That is why I wanted to work for this company.
Why did we choose you?
No one else wanted to hire me.
What is your greatest achievement at work?
Win projects as a team (sales, pricing, operations, tender team, subject matter experts, our consultants).
What is your greatest achievement in life?
Simply the idea that I’m still the boy scout I was 25 years ago, but with a long beard and less hear. And I hope that I will never lose that feeling.
What or who inspires you in your life and at work?
My girlfriend, my parents, best friends and colleagues for the energy, love, humour and insights they give me.
Sports—the drive and desire (and hard work) to become better and achieve personal goals.
Music—it fuels body and soul.
What is the best thing about working at Santa Fe?
It is great to be a part of a company in full transformation – this process offers each individual the possibility to grow and it makes us stronger as a team.
What is the best thing about our horse?
The colour is red which stands for passion and power. And the lines in the logo give the impression that the horse is running/jumping – not away from it’s past but on the move to a great future.
What is the best advice you can give to people?
Work related—It is important to support one another during these challenging times, so make time to listen and understand which challenges your colleagues are facing. I have some “sounding boards”, also out of Santa Fe, and these people help me to stay focused and motivated when I struggle.
What would you do in the event of a zombie apocalypse?
Lead the resistance like John O’Connor in Terminator.
There are now 25 hours in a day, how would you spend the extra hour?
If you could travel anywhere, where would you go?
Top of my list is backpacking in Asia with Caren and Billie for some months.
How did you find this interview?
Very good, great questions, thanks for organising this.
Santa Fe sincerely thanks Roeland for contributing to this initiative and for sharing his story.
