In view of the evolving Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV) situation, we, at Santa Fe, wanted to provide an update and ensure we remain as a trusted service business partner to our clients.
As the outbreak continues to impact travel, work and schools, we are committed to continue to deliver best-in-class relocation services, without comprising the safety of our employees while also following and complying with government regulatory requirements or guidelines to ensure a safe work environment for everyone.
Situation Report – China
Following the State Council directive, all of Santa Fe’s Mainland China offices will resume normal business on Monday, February 10, 2020.
The public holiday for Chinese New Year 2020 began on January 24 and was originally set to conclude on January 30 and has now been extended to February 9.
Santa Fe will pay close attention to the latest news and take necessary actions in accordance to the State Council’s guidance.
Impact to services
As airlines continue to suspend services and countries closing borders it is evident the impact is serious within the region. Keeping this in mind, we will request all assignees to complete a Health Declaration form prior to packing while also ensuring we monitor the health condition of our staff and practice good hygiene.
China’s Ministry of Education (the MOE) announced that it was postponing the start of the 2020 spring semester. Similarly, Hong Kong schools, kindergartens will be closed until at least March 2nd. This will impact any visits for school searches.
While we understand that nCoV continues to evolve and it could be a difficult time for all of us, we will immediately inform you once we hear further updates from the government authorities.
