Immigration update: Hong Kong | Increase in Government Processing Fees

The visa control section of The Immigration Department of Hong Kong has revised the Government fees for various visa categories with effect from 25th March 2019.

How will be affected?

All applicants who need to process a visa application will be impacted.

Background

• A recent costing review by the Government showed that the fees payable for services are not adequate to recover the full cost of providing those services.
• The Immigration Department regularly reviews the arrangements for handling various types of applications and services with a view to improving the cost-effectiveness as well as the quality of services.
• The fees of the services concerned will increase around 20 per cent, for various visa categories.

Impact

Total visa application cost for an applicant will increase due to the revised Government fees.
