Indonesian COVID-19 Task Force has extended travel ban regulated on circular letter No.4 of 2020 on additional travel ban into Indonesia to prevent the spread of a new COVID-19 strain into Indonesia.

Who will be affected?

+ International travellers entering Indonesia
+ Domestic travellers


Due to the new found COVID-19 strain, the Indonesian COVID-19 Task Force extended travel ban to Indonesia as per the following:

+ Indonesian border is temporarily closed to foreign travellers starting 1 January 2021 until 28 January 2021.
+ Exceptions to the travel ban are for diplomatic visa holders entering Indonesia for official visits, current residence permit holders (ITAS & ITAP Online) and returning Indonesian citizens.

Health protocol for exempted travellers:

+ Negative PCR test issued at a maximum of 48 hours prior to departure time.
+ Re-take the PCR test upon entry to Indonesia.
+ 5-day quarantine at a government appointed quarantine facility, costs are borne by travellers.
+ Additional PCR test upon 5-day quarantine prior the release from the government facility.
