Bureau of Immigration Advisory Lift Travel Ban to Taiwan

On 14 February 2020, the Philippine government has lifted its temporary travel ban imposed against Taiwan due to the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Who will be affected?

  • All foreign nationals and Filipinos who will be travelling to Taiwan from the Philippines

Background

On 11 February 2020, the Philippine government had included Taiwan in the travel restrictions previously imposed against China and its Special Administrative Regions (Macau and Hong Kong).  However, after verifying the measures and protocols that Taiwan had implemented to avoid carriers of the COVID-19 from entering or departing its jurisdiction, the Philippine government has decided to lift the travel ban imposed against Taiwan.

Impact

All foreign nationals and Filipinos will now be allowed to travel to the Philippines from Taiwan and vice versa.

Implementation

Effective 14 February, 2020
